Casey Lucius Campaign On the Radar, Called “Competitive” Race
By National Republican Congressional Campaign Committee
SALINAS, CA, May 16, 2016 – Casey Lucius today announced that the National Republican Congressional Campaign Committee (NRCC) has officially designated the race to succeed Sam Farr as “competitive” and that her campaign for Congress is “On the Radar.”
While most political pundits have assumed that an uncontested Democratic nominee in this district had an automatic pass to be elected, the organization with responsibility for monitoring Congressional races on behalf of Speaker Paul Ryan has moved Casey Lucius’s campaign onto its list of “competitive” races.
“Voters throughout the district are telling me that it is time for a change in Congress and that they are excited about my campaign. I am delighted to see that this race is getting national attention and that the momentum I feel from talking with voters is being recognized,” Casey Lucius said.
This is the first time that the NRCC has become involved in a Congressional race in this area.
Casey Lucius, who served as a former Professor of National Security at the Naval War College and ran an intelligence unit on The USS Stennis in the Persian Gulf during her active duty in the Navy, is a candidate for Congress in California District 20.
